How to use this

Set your base currency

Open setup or Settings, choose your base currency, and keep it unchanged unless you are intentionally starting over.

Create your sources

Add your real cash wallet, bank account, card, or business account before recording entries.

Review categories

Use defaults first, then add only the income and expense categories you actually need.

Add real entries

Add one income, one expense, and one transfer so you can check balances early.

Check Insights

Open Insights and verify the balance movement after your first entries.

Set backup

Link backup before heavy imports, attachments, or live business use.

Detailed guide

1

Start with the basics

After login, set currency, sources, and categories before turning on advanced modules. This keeps all dropdowns, imports, and reports clean from the start.

2

Add small real data first

Add a few real entries before importing large files. This lets you confirm sources, categories, dates, and balances without creating cleanup work.

3

Turn on modules after basics

Enable Import Center, Reimbursements, Investments, Billing, Inventory, and business tools only after your core setup makes sense.

Before you finish, check this

  • Base currency is correct.
  • At least one money source exists.
  • Categories are not duplicated.
  • Insights totals match your expectation.
  • Backup/recovery is understood before heavy use.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Opening every module before sources and categories are ready.
  • Adding demo data and thinking it syncs to other devices.
  • Using transfer as income or expense.
  • Changing base currency after real records exist without a reset plan.
